Terms of Service
Last updated: September 1, 2026
1. What this service is
Parks Open (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) is an independent tool that helps you find campsite availability across BC Parks campgrounds and get notified when sites open up. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to BC Parks, the Province of British Columbia, or the BC Parks reservation service operated by Camis. All park and availability information is read from the publicly available BC Parks reservation system.
2. We are not a booking service
We do not make reservations or bookings for you. We never ask for, receive, or store your BC Parks account login or payment information. When you choose to book, you do so on the official BC Parks reservation website, under their terms — we simply link you there.
3. Availability information is provided “as is”
Campsite availability changes constantly and is provided on a best-effort basis. It may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Always confirm availability on the official BC Parks website before making plans or travelling. We do not guarantee that any site shown as open will still be available.
4. Alerts
If you create an alert (a “watch”), we will try to notify you by email when a matching site appears. Alerts are best-effort — we do not guarantee delivery, timing, or that a site will still be available when you receive one. Completing any booking is up to you.
5. Acceptable use
The Service is for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl, bulk-download, mirror, cache, or resell our data, content, or availability feed;
- access the Service through automated means except an interface we explicitly provide;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Service; or
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and the accuracy or completeness of any information.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including missed reservations, lost trips, wasted travel, or reliance on availability information.
8. Changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or update these terms, at any time. If we change these terms we will update the date above; continued use means you accept the update.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada.
