# Research: what we learn from watching BC Parks availability

We read the reservation system every few minutes to answer one question: where can you camp this weekend. Along the way we see how often booked sites come back, how soon before the stay, and how fast they go again.

## Reports
- [When booked BC Parks campsites come back: the first eight days](https://parksopen.ca/reports/bc-parks-reopenings-2026-09) — 2–9 Sep 2026, published 2026-09-10. 16,551 booked site nights came back in 8 days; 57% for a stay within the week; 29% of the ones taken again were gone within an hour.

We publish totals by park and by week or coarser, at least a day after the fact, with the aggregate tables as CSV, all under CC BY 4.0. No per-site data, no real-time feed, no odds for a given site.
