# BC Parks day-pass availability

Wed 14–Tue 20 Oct: Pipi7íyekw / Joffre Lakes needs a pass per person Wed 14–Tue 20; Garibaldi does not require a day-use pass (season ended 12 Oct); Golden Ears does not require a day-use pass (season ended 7 Sep); Mount Seymour's winter dates are not published yet.

Rules as BC Parks publishes them (read 19 Sep 2026; seasons and closures reviewed 10 Sep 2026). Passes are free, released two days before the visit at 7 am Pacific, booked only at https://reserve.bcparks.ca/dayuse/registration. A camping reservation is a pass. We never book on anyone's behalf. The web comparison board uses live collector cells only while its three-day snapshot is fresh and complete; this text view remains rules-only.

Booking update: From Sept. 22, create a BC Parks account and verify the email associated with it before booking a day-use pass. Source: https://archive.news.gov.bc.ca/releases/news_releases_2024-2028/2026ENV0037-001067.htm.

## How passes work (BC Parks' rules)

- When do BC Parks day-use passes open? Two days before the visit date, at 7 am Pacific time. If none are left, BC Parks says to check back: passes return when someone cancels.
- Are BC Parks day-use passes free? Nothing. Passes are free and booked on BC Parks' day-use site, not the camping reservation site and not by phone.
- Do campers need a BC Parks day-use pass? It depends on the park. Overnight reservations cover Joffre Lakes and Garibaldi; Golden Ears reservations and backcountry permits also qualify. At Mount Seymour, backcountry campers still need a pass for arrival day, while group-camping reservation holders do not.
- Do I need a BC Parks account to book a day-use pass? From Sept. 22, 2026, create a BC Parks account and verify the email associated with it before booking. BC Services Card is encouraged but an email and password can also create an account.
- Can I transfer a BC Parks day-use pass? No. Passes cannot be transferred to another date, time, location or person. If you cannot use one, cancel it so someone else can.
- How do I show a BC Parks day-use pass? The pass is emailed to you. Staff ask to see it at the trailhead, on a phone or on paper. Cell service is poor in these parks, so save a screenshot before you go.
